MPL’s Review Of Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine Singapore
I recently visited Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine, and it was a flavorful adventure. The bold and spicy dishes reminded me of authentic Hunan flavors. I paired my meal with a refreshing herbal tea, which balanced the heat perfectly.
The Hunan Style Fried Pork was my favorite. It was tender, savory, and went well with steamed rice. The spices were just right. Another standout was the Fish Head Steamed with Chopped Chili. The fresh fish, soaked in spicy chili, was flavorful and satisfying.
For something light, I tried the Sour Spicy Cucumber. It was refreshing and tangy, perfect as a side dish. The Special Changsha Jelly Noodle also impressed me with its unique texture and mildly spicy kick.
I couldn’t skip the Antler Mushroom with Chicken. The slow-simmered chicken and earthy mushrooms were comforting and hearty.
However, the Sour Spicy Chicken Gizzard (SGD 19.52) felt a bit too chewy for my liking. It lacked the balance I expected.
Overall, the food was fantastic, and the flavors were bold. The herbal tea was a nice touch to cool down the heat. I recommend Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine if you love spicy food with a punch.
