MPL’s Review Of Sichuan Alley Singapore
I visited Sichuan Alley last week and had an amazing experience. The place has a cozy vibe, perfect for a casual meal. I went with a friend, and we decided to try a mix of their small plates, noodles, and drinks.
The B-52 Fried Chicken was the highlight of the meal. It was crispy, spicy, and had a nice nutty flavor from the cashews.
The Hot and Sour Sweet Potato Noodles were tangy and spicy, with crunchy peas adding a good texture. We also ordered the Mapo Tofu, which was soft and flavorful, with a perfect balance of spice and umami.
For something refreshing, we tried the Chengdu Fizz. The mix of kumquat, chili padi, and Sichuan pepper was unique and exciting. The Cold Brewed Chengdu Jasmine Green Tea was light and floral, a good contrast to the spicy dishes.
We couldn’t resist the Mini Hotpot. The broth was rich, and the tiger prawns and vegetables were fresh. The Pickled Vegetable Fish was another standout. The tangy broth paired well with the tender fish.
The only dish that didn’t wow us was the Braised Ox Tongue. It was tender, but the chili sauce felt a bit overpowering.
Overall, I loved the bold flavors and variety. The drinks complemented the dishes perfectly. Sichuan Alley is a great spot for those who enjoy authentic and spicy food. I will definitely visit again.
