I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bakalaki, a charming Greek restaurant in Singapore, and let me tell you, it was a delightful experience! Here’s a rundown of what makes this place a must-visit for Greek cuisine lovers.

The journey at Bakalaki starts with an array of ‘Mezedes-orektika’ or appetizers. The Tzatziki and Melitzanosalata Agiorgitiki, both were authentic and refreshing. The Tzatziki, with its cool, creamy texture and the perfect hint of garlic, was an excellent companion to the warm and fluffy Pita Bread. The Dolmades, grape leaves stuffed with rice and herbs were a unique and flavorful treat.

The salads, especially the Horiatiki, were fresh and vibrant. A classic Greek salad, it was a perfect blend of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and feta cheese, all drizzled with a delicious olive oil dressing.

Moving on to the main courses, the Moussaka and Beef Yiouvetsi were standouts. The Moussaka, with its layers of eggplant, meat, and creamy béchamel sauce, was a comforting and hearty dish. The Beef Yiouvetsi, a traditional Greek pasta baked with beef and tomato sauce, was tender and rich in flavor.

To end the meal on a sweet note, the Baklava (SGD 18.42) was a real treat. Layers of flaky pastry, nuts, and honey made each bite a delightful mix of textures and sweetness.
